Our region is full of interested places to visit. We choose some trips to meet people, history, flora and fauna so our clients can see something more of this fabulous country. Our guides are native and European working together to give the most qualified information, here are some options:

  Indian Reserve Jaqueira
A visit to the nearby Indian Reservation Jaqueira of the Pataxó Indians, with Indian guides tracking in the forest with explanations about how they used to hunt, showing medical plants and trees and the preservation of nature, history and secrets of the rainforest. After that there will be a presentation of Indian dances and rituals while one can taste typical Indian food samples like fish cooked in leaves.
 

  City Tour
Visit the historical part of Porto Seguro, at the top of the hill with a beautiful panoramic view over the beaches and lower part of the village. See the first church, prison and town hall of Brazil. Afterwards, visit the oldest and colorful fishermen’s harbor and marketplace at the mouth of the river Buranhem, the mangroves of the picturesque Rua Pitangueira. Then, the tour continues along the most beautiful beaches of the North Coast until Coroa Vermelha where the Portuguese settlers performed the first mass Brazil had ever had, in the year 1500, to the astounding presence of the local Indians, and prayed by father Frei Henrique. A monument stands in its place.

 

  Banderantes, Guaratinga
This very different journey takes you to the canyons and rocky mountains with fantastic landscape in the area and the footsteps of the Bandeirantes, the former Brazilian pioneers, Indian hunters and cowboys, who explored the mainland of Brazil and Bahia. In this beautiful savage countryside we also visit the Pouso Alegre waterfall, close to the spring of the Buranhem river. You can even take a refreshing bath and get massaged by the pure and clean waters of this waterfall. We suggest you wear hiking shoes (or similar)and a hat or a cap, and take with you a good sun-screen and bathing clothes. Breakfast, fruits, lemonade, water and  food for the picnic are all included.

 
  Jungletour
Reserve of more than 6000 ha.of original Atlantic rainforest (Mata Atlantica) with the most variety of species of trees and plants within a 2Km squared span. Here we are going to learn a lot about this specific flora and fauna by tracking into the forest/jungle of about three hours. We also visit an institute for research with very interesting information about nature conservation and recovery.
 

  South Tour
By car or Van to the exotic village of Arraial d´Ajuda. Afterwards, we’ll pass by beautiful Taipe Beach to visit the turtle project there, then, taking the old off- road to Trancoso. located about 30 km more to the south, settled in 1563 by the Jesuits to protect the Indians from the colonists. Church built with bones and oil of whales. Most beautiful and untouched beaches of the region, one is a nudist beach.

 
  North Tour
A very nice tour along the beautiful beaches of the “Discovery Coast”: Coroa Vermelha, Mutary and Sta. Cruz  de Cabralia. Here we cross the river and are going to the unknown small villages of St. Antonio, Guaiu until Belmonte, the former centre of cacao plantations.
 

  Favela Tour
Visit of “Baianão” where you can see how a former wild west invasion turned into a village in a short time. There are still places with favela-type houses/huts where the people settled after they had to leave the cacao plantations because of a devastating disease to the plants. After this we go to the typical inland villages of Pindorama and Vera Cruz where we can see the daily life of agricultural settlings and fruit cultures.

 
  Rio Buranhem
One of the nicest excursions in the region is going up the river in a small boat, max. 10 people, passing by places with flora and fauna like the Amazon, with rainforests, mangroves and islands. We also visit local fishermen living at the riverside and small farms. The excursion is about 7/8 hours and includes bilingual tour guide, non-alcoholic drinks, fruits and snacks for a beautiful day relaxing on the river.
 
  Jeep Tour
to Praia do Espelho

According to one of the leading tourism pocket guides (Quatro Rodas) this is one of the most beautiful beaches of Brazil far away from civilization. The way to “Espelho Beach” is through forests, small and off roads and the famous “Valley of the Buffalos”.

 
  Scuba Snorkeling
Because of the big number of coral reefs, the always nice temperature of the water and maritime biodiversity there are very good diving spots for experienced divers as well as first-timers. One can have quick , cheap and effective professional courses so to obtain the international license PADI or CMAS.
 

  Monte Pascoal
You visit the National Park of Monte Pascoal. The first spotting in the horizon the Portuguese explorers saw in 1500 was this mountain and it was Easter, so they called it  Mount Easter”. The Pataxó-Indians still live here and they will guide you through the park. They know everything about the flora and fauna. Going uphill is not easy, but the views on top make it all worthwhile.
